Special Needs Friendly Santa | December 2016

The Holland Center in Minnetonka, MN is offering Twin Cities families the opportunity to meet Santa in an environment that is friendly for kids with autism or who have sensory issues which aren’t best served in a mall environment.

This is the 7th year Holland Center is hosting this great event and offering to donate all net proceeds to C.A.D.E.!

Photos:  A professional photographer will be donating their time and talents again this year.  Patience is taken by our volunteers to do the best we can to capture a nice moment for your family.  Families will receive their photos on a CD to take home to share with friends and family and have printed with the studio of your choice.

Our special needs friendly Santa will be visiting Holland Center for our children with special needs and their families.

The environment will be sensory friendly, GF/CF/Peanut-Free, with fun, themed activities while the children wait. A professional photographer will be onsite and one family at a time will visit with Santa.

We hope this will be a delightful experience for children that often cannot tolerate the atmosphere at most malls and locations that Santa frequents.

Autism Grants for 2017

C.A.D.E. is a 501c3 non-profit volunteer based organization. A significant portion of our mission is to provide grants to local families affected by autism. We currently have the following grants available for 2017:

Medical and Therapy Grant Application (download)

Please download the grant application linked above.  We review medical / therapy grants ongoing and award based on need and available funding for those who meet the minimum requirements and fully complete their application.

Technology (iPad2) Grant (download)

Important dates for tech grants:

  • Spring Application Deadline:  April 15th
    – Mid May distribution (at Autism 5K)
  • Summer Application Deadline:  July 15th
    – Mid August distribution
  • Fall Application Deadline:  October 15th
    – Mid November distribution
  • Winter Application Deadline:  January 15th
    – Mid February distribution

At this time, all grants are only available to Minnesota residents.

Minnesota Lynx Autism Awareness Night

C.A.D.E. and the Minnesota Lynx invite you to attend the 2nd Annual Autism Awareness Night!


When: Tuesday August 28th, 2012
Where: Target Center in Minneapolis, MN

Details:
C.A.D.E. and the Minnesota Lynx are hosting Autism Awareness Night at Target Center as the World Champion Minnesota Lynx face the San Antonio Silver Stars on the evening of Tuesday, August 28th.

The Lynx are offering discounted tickets as well as special accommodations and considerations for our group including allowance of gluten-free snacks to be brought in by families, a dedicated seating area for us, recognition functions at the game as well as a quiet area in one of the suites for families or kids needing a break from the game setting. C.A.D.E. will have a table in the concourse for questions and information.

Tickets are discounted for our group and a percentage of ticket sales will benefit C.A.D.E. (Children with Autism Deserve Education), which is a Minnesota-based 501(c)3 nonprofit supporting families affected by autism via local grants and research funding. http://www.ChildrenWithAutism.org
